    Released in early 1981, Captured was Journey’s first live album, and it came at a turning point for the band. Recorded during their 1980 Departure Tour, it stitches together performances from Detroit, Montreal, and Tokyo, giving fans a front row seat to the band’s explosive stage presence. You can hear the crowd, feel the sweat, and sense the chemistry between the band members. It’s also the last Journey album to feature founding member Gregg Rolie on keyboards and vocals, marking the end of an era before Jonathan Cain stepped in. The track “Dixie Highway” stands out because it was never recorded in a studio. This live version is the only one that exists. And tucked at the end is “The Party’s Over (Hopelessly in Love),” the lone studio track, like a farewell note to the tour. With over two million copies sold, Captured, "captured" the moment Journey became legends.
